Abstract

This review examines the book Mio figlio è normale? by Stefania Andreoli, situating it within contemporary discussions on adolescence and parenting. The text clearly and accessibly addresses key educational concerns related to adolescent development, offering a critical reinterpretation of behaviors often perceived as problematic. The author invites readers to recognize adolescence as a necessary developmental stage, characterized by conflict, experimentation, and identity construction, and emphasizes the role of adults in supporting—rather than over-controlling—this process. Particular attention is given to themes such as authenticity, emotional experience, educational relationships, and the risk of a “silent” adolescence shaped by parental expectations. The review highlights the value of the book as a reflective tool for educators and parents, fostering greater awareness of the adult role in promoting balanced youth development.
